My children might describe me as an imaginative story-teller, but a trained children's literary writer, I am not. I am the CEO of the McFarlane crew (three very loved need I say lucky fellas). So, I may be out numbered but proud to say that I am holding it down! When I am not running our family circus, I mean operations, I work as a Strategic Planning Director for a marketing technology company, where I have spent 20 incredible years. During the pandemic, I discovered a reason to write, for my children and young readers, whom I hope to inspire by this special story!

I am actively involved in my children's school, where I volunteer on the parent-lead Marketing Committee and as a Teacher's Assistant for an amazing bunch of inspiring Kindergartners. I serve as a member of the Board of Reviews for our Township. As for my mini-community... "the cul-de-sac", I am our resident shooting guard for any pick-up basketball games. Believe it or not, I still have a solid outside shot!

This story was written for my two greatest joys, Benny and Lu-Bug. One special night, after snuggling my children into bed, I shared with them a magical story about a very special crayon. Little did they know, this was their loving mother’s way of inspiring their minds and hearts. We don’t always understand others, especially those that seem very different from ourselves, but, if you lead with kindness and are open to learn, we stand to grow together. “Crimson” is an imaginative story about a new crayon's quest to discover the power of his color! Along the journey, Crimson is met with adversity and self-doubt. Through exploration, he gains a sense of self-awareness, belongingness and confidence; identifying a way to harmonize with a well-established crayon crew.
Working together, they create the most magnificent art, while uncovering all the love and laughter, friendships bring to the heart.
